Fun facts About Gel Nails

Sharing is caring!

Gel nails have truly revolutionized the world of nails and brought a big bag of tricks with them. Who would have thought your perfectly manicured hands could last up to so many days without a single damage. Ladies earlier had to be extra careful around their freshly painted nails. But gel nail shops have been going gaga over the UV nail gel’s response and durability. There a few facts that are still unknown to many. Let’s check them out.

You can do it yourself

Applying gel nails isn’t that tough of a job as you’d think. Gel nails do take time and patience, but once you get the hang of it, there’s no looking back. You can save a lot many trips to the gel nail shop, and save your hard-earned money as well. Various websites sell UV nail gel that can help you achieve that perfect manicure and that too all by yourself. You can also experiment with different looks once you get the hang of the whole job and curate looks accordingly. It can turn out to be one of the relaxing activities for you.

Gel nails have no risk of chipping off

UV gel nails is that one blessing for womankind that cures most nail problems. It doesn’t easily chip off even right after you have gotten your manicure done. You can quickly go back to your daily routine after getting your nails done, without waiting for it to get dry! There’s no risk of chipping off because you see gel nails are cured under UV light which hardens it, unlike any other nail paint that you can get out there in the market.

Hot water and gel nails

One thing that can ruin your UV gel nails experience is hot water. Hot water and gel nails do not get along! It can soften your nails, and you have a higher risk of your gel nails slipping off. That is why, even for removal processes, it is recommended that you soak your nails in hot water first so that the process gets easier and gel nails can be removed easily. Try avoiding dipping your hands in hot water as much as you can. Go for gloves while doing anything that involves hot water.

You can remove your gel nails professionally at home

Don’t believe it when they say you can’t remove your gel nails at home. You sure can do it and that too professionally as well. All you need is a nail filer, acetone, cotton pads, and some aluminum foil. Gently buff the topmost layer of your nail polish just so that you can rough it up. Don’t go overboard with it and file to its core, you just need to tone down its UV nail gel layer. Next what you have to do is soak some cotton balls in acetone and cover your nails with it. Wrap a foil paper around your cotton-balls-covered nails and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Remove it after 15 minutes and rejuvenate your nails with some oil or nail moisturizer. And voila! Clean nails ready to be repainted.
