Sharing is caring!

Nothing beats a home-cooked meal. Everyone knows this and it’s becoming increasingly popular to cook as much as you can at home. There are classic dishes, simple dishes, fancy dishes and everything in-between. Let’s start with some of the most famous quick and easy recipes:

Recipe #1: Mac and cheese

Probably the most famous easy cooking recipe you can find, mac and cheese have been around for centuries, at least.

Here’s what you need:

  • ¼ cup of butter, ¼ cup of corn starch, 2 cups of chicken broth, 8 ounces of dried macaroni pasta, 2 cups of heavy whipping cream, 1 cub of Colby cheese (shredded) and an extra cup of cheddar cheese, also shredded.
    Here’s what to do:

Use a medium saucepan and place it over medium heat. Melt the butter in it and sprinkle some corn starch. Cook and whisk constantly, for at least 3 minutes, until simmering and foamy. Don’t let it turn brown. After this, add the chicken broth. Cook and whisk constantly for about 4 minutes, until the sauce starts to simmer and thickens. As soon as this happens, remove from heat. Add salt and pepper, as you see fit.

The pasta – use a large bowl and combine the white sauce and cream. Add the sharp cheddar and the Colby cheeses. Stir until smooth and melted. Set aside once all is done.

Fill a large stockpot with water and bring the water to boil, over high heat. Cook the pasta for about 6 minutes. Stir occasionally, until the pasta gets soft. The pasta is done when it is soft, but still tender, having a firm bite. Drain and rinse the water – use cold water to cool it quickly. Set aside.

Preheat your oven to about 375 to 400 F. Put the pasta back into the stockpot, add the cheese sauce and mix all together. Season to taste with pepper and salt. Transfer everything to a 9 by 9-inch baking dish. Bake it in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes, until it turns golden on the top. On the interior, it has to stay bubbly and soft. Let it cool for about 10 minutes. Now, it’s ready to serve!

Recipe #2: Tomato and basil soup

Making a great soup is easier than you imagine. Soups are usually quick and easy recipes, and everyone can make them. Here is a simple tomato and basil soup recipe that can be a great addition to your daily meals.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil, ½ medium onion (diced), ½ cup of carrots (peeled and sliced), 28 ounces of canned, diced tomatoes, 32 ounces of chicken broth, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon of black pepper, 1/3 cup of heavy cream (this is optional, use it if you want), ¼ cup of fresh basil leaves and 8 ounces of ravioli (mini is ideal)

Here’s what to do:

Start this easy cooking recipe by using a large pot and heat the olive oil over medium heat. You can also use a dutch oven if you find it comfortable. As soon as the olive oil gets hot, add the carrots and the onions. Cook and stir occasionally. Do this until the vegetables are soft and starting to turn golden brown (it should take about 7 minutes). Add the garlic and cook for 2 more minutes, until it turns golden. Add the diced tomatoes, the salt, the celery, the brown sugar, and the chicken broth. Stir and bring everything to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 15 to 30 minutes and it thickens. Add the fresh basil leaves once done.

Puree the mixture – use an immersion blender or pour it into a free-standing blender. Puree until everything is smooth. Bring the soup to simmer again. Add the ravioli to the pot and cook until al dente, according to the directions listed on the package. Add the cream if you want, and stir to combine. You are almost done – just garnish with fresh basil leaves and croutons!

Recipe #3: Chicken wings in an air fryer

Air fryers are new kitchen appliances and they make cooking very easy for many people. Probably the most attractive easy cooking recipe you can try is chicken wings. This recipe is incredibly simple – you only need the basic ingredients, and you have most of them in your kitchen. Obviously, you will need an air fryer, which works similarly to an oven. The hot air is circulated by an electrical fan and cooks the food very quickly. Let’s take a look:

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 lbs of fresh or defrosted chicken wings, pepper, and salt to taste, garlic powder to taste, olive oil and wing sauce of your choice.

Here’s what to do:

Use kitchen shears to cut off the wing tips if the chicken wings are whole. If not, you can use them as they come. The idea is to separate the wingette from the drumette, at the joint. Pat the chicken wings dry with a simple paper towel. Season the chicken wings with pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Coat the wings with olive oil. Prepare the air fryer and set it to 400 degrees. Place the wings in a single layer, without the wings touching each other. Place the wings carefully in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd the basket. Cook for about 20 minutes, flip the wings halfway, using silicone tongs. Make sure to check the crispiness of the wings – they should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cook for an additional 6 to 10 minutes to reach the desired crispiness. Remove the wings from the air fryer using the silicone tongs. Toss the wings in the sauce. You can use any kind of sauce – chili, barbecue or Worcester sauce. Serve immediately, while hot! You can use Brussels sprouts, potatoes or rice as sides. There are a lot of quick and easy recipes for sides as well! The options are endless, you just have to use your imagination.
