What were the initial challenges you faced?

Success, like every growth, needs nurturing. In the business industry, thousands of  ideas are generated, and millions are rejected. However, iPayTotal Ltd was not such  one idea. iPayTotal Ltd was an idea started by three people three years ago, and   their aims were clear: they were going to make it work.   They planted this small seed, but they didn’t hope for it to just grow on its own; they   nurtured the growth of the company to put it up on its feet where it is today. Through intricately handled meetings, teams and designs, they went up against every obstacle, only to come out stronger and bigger. There were hindrances and hardships, but there was more hard work and ambition. Every entangled situation was thought over to provide the best service that we do till date. And with this, we can say that we are an international company, with offices in countries like United States, Canada, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India and South Africa, providing services from Payment Acquiring to IBAN Accounts to Prepaid Cards, with partnerships and alliances with the top-level banks and financial organizations all around the globe. We believe that every idea needs encouragement, and with our services, we want to   make your growth conducive, because greatness starts from small beginnings. To   celebrate our third anniversary, we have decided to grow BIG and we are planning to go offshore to cater the whole world as a licensed institution. We have faced many different challenges over the years. We struggled initially understanding various fraudulent activities and then worked on to provide high safety systems. Now our international payment gateway provides powerful built-in fraud prevention filters and monitoring tools based on client behaviour, ensuring any suspicious activity is blocked.  
 

Which was that point that triggered the growth of the company?

Although many industry initiatives focus on fraud and identity theft, the reality is that a significant percentage of financial losses associated with credit, and debit payments is the result of organized crime, business failures, inadequate monitoring of merchant accounts & financial loss from unfunded chargebacks. As the saying goes, “Experience is the best teacher“. With time and experience, the company as a payment processing provider, has evolved its technology to such an extent to detect the crime of financial fraud. iPayTotal’s risk management team along with its partnered acquirers, PayFacs and processors have launched this program that benefits the payment processing industry and assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when reviewing any particular merchant’s case. This program would not only help its payment processing industry but also gives the first time merchants a scope or a window to judge an acquirer, a PayFac or a processor before blindly going with the reviews available online.   iPayTotal’s Payment Gateway has a built-in ’Risk’ logic, which can sniff out a possible fraud faster than a K9 squad. Its ’Risk’ logic also has 72 odd rules for monitoring the thousands of transactions on the company’s payment gateway daily. Every time a card is used for payment, the company’s gateway connects with the card provider to check if the card has been hot listed. (Hot listing means that the card has been blocked temporarily or permanently for use). At iPayTotal, the agenda is to ensure that a customer’s business can process credit card payments with a high-risk merchant account. Once we started understanding challenges faced by the merchants , our team started working on those regions at the same time we started providing unparalleled support. This helped us in significant growth.

I believe that there is always room for an entrepreneur to learn more and there is always opportunities to innovation and  constant improvement of a business. SK – An entrepreneur should be focused, dedicated and determined. If you have the hunger to succeed and can visualize success through the “law of attraction” you will become successful in reality, such as is entrepreneurship. One must treat each project as their own child and nurture the project in order to succeed. An entrepreneur is responsible for their own success based on the amount of effort one inputs into achieving the goal, an entrepreneur is also responsible for their own well being, finding a healthy balance is important to maintain enthusiasm and an energetic approach to each situation. An entrepreneur strives to succeed but also strives to see their team mates succeed, achieving goals through collaboration, networking and professional growth. Can you please brief us about your professional experience? How do you look after your employees?

SK – Providing employees with necessary tools to conduct their duties and on going support, ensuring each employee is appreciated and conducted regular staff engagement activities. In order to look after my employees and to maintain a healthy relationship with them, I would ensure that I am always approachable and on call if they need me for anything, thus resulting in their trust and loyalty. Ensuring employees well being and mental health is paramount ensuring equality of work load and opportunities for progression.

We make our employees feel valued and appreciated. We connect with the employees which has helped us form a dedicated, long-term team.   We have a diverse team  where everyone is unique and have excellent communication with their colleagues and they focus on goals and results which makes our team unique. Constant vigilance- a need or a strategy? Please share your views.    

It’s critical that companies from a business perspective protect their customers’ and employees’ information. Such a program makes good business sense in demonstrating the value they place on their clients and how they deal with them in a business relationship. It is extremely important that they protect the data that they’re collecting, and the data that is very important to their customers, whether it is credit card information, personally identifiable information or even personal health information, depending on what type of company they’re dealing with. The evolution of the threat landscape requires a security transformation. This includes a shift from point security products, manual security management, and reactive security to a strategy where different security elements are integrated into a single system, security workflows can span multiple network ecosystems, and threat-intelligence is centrally collected and correlated. It also requires that advanced sandboxing be integrated across multiple security elements, enabling organizations to prevent and detect previously unknown threats regardless of where they appear. With more attack vectors being successfully targeted by cybercriminals, doing more of the same when it comes to security is a proven losing strategy. Organizations need to become hypervigilant about security, or they will forfeit their ability to compete in today’s digital marketplace because they will become victims to the increasingly effective and ruthless cybercriminal community.

It’s a rat-race out there. How do you cope with that?  

It’s about self-management and taking full responsibility of myself. You can and you must pro-actively organize and live your life. No one else can do it for you. Managing Your Life is Much More than Career Management: Work (career, wealth) is just one aspect of life. There are other crucial areas which need to get adequate and regular attention in order to lead a fulfilled life: social area (family, friends, recognition), health area (sports, relaxation, diet, well-being and fitness), and spiritual area (fulfillment, religion, love, philosophy). Write Down Your Personal Vision and Mission of Life: Ask yourself what’s really important for you, what you would like to achieve, what you are really good at, what your values are, and what you want to look back on at the end of your life? Determine and write down what you’d like to achieve in each of your life areas. This allows you to anchor your personal life vision in your ongoing schedule. At the same time it will add meaningful content to your life. There always will be external tasks and deadlines which you will need to comply with. It’s a fact of life. Still, in order to master your life, you will also need to set your own priorities in order to concentrate on your important professional and private goals. You need to control your day in order to control your life.
